NEDA CSO Staff conducts assessment of ICT Resources
and VOIP testing for NRO XII

In line with the implementation of the NEDA
Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) 2005-2010,
a team from the Information Technology and
Coordination Staff (ITCS) of the Central Support
Office (CSO) visited NEDA Regional Office XII in
Koronadal City on August 16 to 19, 2009.
Mr. Sergio Garcia of the Office of Deputy Director
General of CSO headed the team composed of Mr.
Emarson Ochoa and Mr. Darwin Venus of ITCS and Ms.
Myrna Tapius of the Administrative Staff. An
assessment and physical inventory of ICT resources
was conducted by the team. The NRO XII staff were
consulted to gather and share insights on NRO XII’s
experiences and lessons on the operation and
management of information systems, application
software, and network infrastructure. They also
discussed with the NRO XII ICT team the proposed
targets for the efficient acquisition and effective
utilization of ICT resources, ICT training, and
other ICT-related concerns of NRO XII.
As part of the NEDA’s effort to introduce more
innovative and efficient ways of performing its
coordinative work, the visiting team also briefed
the NRO XII staff on the Voice and Video
conferencing technologies or Voice and Video over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) using the VoIP Analog
Telephone Adapter (ATA) devise, as well as, the
Skype.
